Does home insurance cover stored autos?

Asked by: in Auto Insurance, Home Insurance

I have a stored classic car (in my garage) that I don’t plan on driving anymore.  I’d prefer not to pay for auto insurance.  Would my home insurance cover any issues if I’m not driving it?

This depends on your specific policy but stored cars typically wouldn’t be covered. You might check into a boutique classic car insurance provider. Those policies are typically factor how much driving is taking place into the premium. If you don’t plan to drive the car at all the cost should be minimal.

I think it depend on what type of home insurance you have. You can talk to your insurance company they will reduce your auto insurance as you have planned not to drive the car.
