Question about the totaled value of a vehicle

Asked by: in Auto Insurance

I was recently in an accident and my insurance company has determined my truck is totaled.  They gave me a really low offer on the value and I’m pretty upset.  How is the totaled value of a truck determined?  Can I negotiate this?

Insurance company’s valuation is based on what it will cost them to replace your vehicle. To calculate the value of a totaled vehicle you must know its resale value.
